Triton Locksmith install new locks on any door in your home for $75-$200, including the hardware. We carry Schlage, Kwikset, Yale, and others in our vans. Most installs take 30-60 minutes and we can drill new holes if needed.
What Types of Locks Do We Install?
Every type that goes on a residential door. Deadbolts, knob locks, lever handles, keypad locks, smart locks, chain locks, and security bars. We install on wood doors, metal doors, fiberglass doors, and even some glass doors with the right hardware.
If you bought a lock yourself and need it installed, we'll do that too. Or you can choose from the inventory we carry. Either way works.
Do You Need to Drill a New Hole?
Only if your door doesn't already have a lock prep. Most exterior doors come with standard 2-1/8 inch and 1 inch bore holes for a deadbolt. If yours does, it's a straight swap.
New construction, adding a deadbolt where there wasn't one, or installing on a door that's never had a lock requires drilling. We carry hole saws and jigs in the van. It adds about 15-20 minutes and $25-50 to the job depending on the door material.
How Do We Make Sure the Install Is Done Right?
We test everything before we leave. Key goes in and out smooth. Deadbolt throws fully. Latch retracts clean. Strike plate sits flush and the screws hit the frame, not just the trim. We use 3-inch screws on deadbolt strike plates, not the short screws that come in the box.
That last detail matters. According to consumer safety testing by Consumer Reports, a deadbolt with 3-inch strike plate screws resists kick-in attacks significantly better than the factory 1-inch screws most people never swap out.

How much does it cost to install a deadbolt?
A standard Schlage B60N deadbolt installed runs about $120-$160. That includes the lock and labor. High-security deadbolts from Medeco or Mul-T-Lock start around $250 installed.
Can you install a lock on a door that's never had one?
Yes. We drill the bore holes and install the lock from scratch. Works on wood, metal, and fiberglass doors. Usually adds $25-$50 for the drilling.
Do you install locks I bought myself?
Yes. Bring your own hardware and we'll install it. Just make sure it's the right fit for your door thickness (usually 1-3/8 or 1-3/4 inches).
Can you key the new lock to match my existing locks?
In most cases yes. We can repin the new lock to match your current key, or rekey everything to one new key. Both options available on the spot.
How long does it take to install one lock?
30-60 minutes depending on whether we're replacing an existing lock (faster) or installing on a new door (requires drilling). Most jobs are done in 45 minutes.
