What Types of Door Pivots Do We Service?
Floor pivots (Rixson 27/28 series), offset pivots (Dorma, Rixson), and center pivots (Bommer). Pivot-hung doors use a pivot at the top and bottom instead of side hinges. They're common on heavy glass doors, double-acting kitchen doors, and wide commercial entries.
The Rixson 27 floor closer/pivot is the most common unit we service. It combines a floor-mounted pivot with a hydraulic closer. When the oil leaks or the bearing wears, the door either slams or won't close at all. We replace the unit and reset the door.
