When Do You Need Key Fob Programming?
When you have a fob that isn't paired to your car. Bought a replacement fob on Amazon? It won't work until it's programmed. Fob stopped responding after a battery change? Might need reprogramming. Got a used fob from a junkyard? Definitely needs programming.
Some vehicles (mainly older Fords, GMs, and Chryslers) allow self-programming through a key cycle procedure. But most modern vehicles require a diagnostic tool connected to the OBD-II port. That's what we bring.
How Does Key Fob Programming Work?
We plug into your car's OBD-II port and use diagnostic software to register the fob's unique ID. The car's computer stores a list of authorized fob IDs. We add your new fob to that list. The car then responds to the new fob's signal. Simple concept, specialized equipment.
We use Autel IM608 Pro and Xtool programmers that cover the widest range of vehicles. According to Autel's compatibility database, the IM608 Pro supports fob programming for over 3,000 vehicle models from 80+ manufacturers.

Can I buy a fob online and have you program it?
Yes, but be careful. Make sure it's the correct part number for your exact year, make, and model. Amazon fobs are often generic or incorrect. If you're unsure, call us first and we'll tell you the right part number.
Why did my fob stop working after a battery change?
Some vehicles lose the fob pairing when the battery is removed. Others just need a reset cycle. We can reprogram it in about 15 minutes. It's a common issue.
Can you program a used fob from another vehicle?
